Het is altijd leuk om bij andere mensen naar binnen te kijken. Ik doe het zelf ook graag, om te zien of het interieur inspirerend is of juist heel erg toe aan verandering. Bij ons gebeurd het ook veel, als ik de blinds niet naar beneden heb tenminste. Ik ben wel op m'n privacy gesteld maar op een mooie zomerse dag als ik vrij ben gaan deze half open waardoor men er onder of over heen kan kijken.

Onze studeerkamer en kantoor is op de bovenste verdieping en kan niemand zien. Dat is helemaal niet erg want ik kan er rustig aan m'n blog werken en m'n vriend kan er in alle rust studeren als dat nodig is. Maar eigenlijk is het best jammer dat niemand deze ziet. Ik heb me er goed op uitgeleefd en het is een prettige plek om te werken.

Daarom vandaag de binnenkijker in onze studeerkamer... Mijn kant want die van m'n vriend moet nog even worden opgeruimd ;-)

Isn't it great to look into peoples home? To be honest, I love doing that. When the blinds are open and you walk along the pavement in a new neighborhood or a new town. Sometimes I get inspired by other homes but I can also get the feeling that the people who live there really don't care about happens in their house. We have our blinds closed most of the time, for some privacy or the bright sun shining in. But when I am at home and want to see what happens outside I put down the blinds and people can look inside over or under our blinds and feed their curiosity.

Our studyroom or home office is on the top floor so nobody can peek in. I don't mind because it is a nice place to write a blog and my boyfriend can study here. But it is a pity that nobody can see how pretty it actually is. I did my best to make it and inspiring place for me to work.

That's why I'll let you peek into our study... My side of the room because the other side needs some tidying up ;-)

Vintage treasures...

Ik ben gek op kringloop en tweedehands winkels, vlooienmarkten en vrijmarkt op Koningsdag. Het is altijd maar de vraag waar je mee thuis komt, ik heb meestal wel een aantal dingen in m'n hoofd die ik graag wil aanschaffen en waar ik dan ook naar opzoek ben. Het gebeurd natuurlijk regelmatig dat ik helemaal niks nuttigs tegen kom. Maar er zijn soms dagen dat je ineens een kleine schat vind.

Zo vond ik vorige weekend een geweldig rotan stoeltje. Ik gok dat het uit de jaren 60/70 komt, ik had er eigenlijk al 1. Die staat mooi te zijn in onze woonkamer. Ik vind het een leuk om de strakke meubels die we hebben met af en toe wat vintage te combineren. Het geeft je huis net iets meer leven en persoonlijkheid.

Mijn vriend is niet zo'n fan van mijn vintage vondsten, maar goed als deze nieuwe vondst nou leuk geprijsd zou zijn dan wilde ik hem toch wel meenemen. En wat bleek, voor een paar euro mocht ik 'm kopen.

Nu hebben we een leuke set van 2 rotan stoeltjes in huis. Ze staan erg leuk en heb ze voor de foto voor een leuk vintage behangetje gezet (dit is een heel oud behang van Graham & Brown dat opnieuw in productie is gebracht in hedendaagse kleuren).

Enn euhhh, nog een paar nachtjes slapen en dan is er weer vrijmarkt. Ik ben benieuwd wat ik daar aantref.

English summary: I love to go to thriftshops and wonder around looking for that treasure for our home. Sometimes you go out empty handed and (I have to admit) a bit dissapointed. But there are some days when you just find those litlle treasures.

Last weekend I went in, looking for used terra cotta pottery but could not find any. When I walked around I found a lovely rattan chair. One I had bought before and is being pretty in our livingroom but only a little difrent. I was curious what the price would be. And very happy to see that it was only a few euro's. So I had to buy it.

To be honest I did'nt need another chair and I know the other chair isn't appreciated around our house. But nevermind, I bought it. So there is a nice set of rattan chairs in our home. Being pretty, not sure if I keep them both. But they are good for now, and looking very nice.

I photographed the two chairs in front of an vintage wallpaper (this vintage design by Graham & Brown is reproduced in new colours).

And, within a few nights of sleep there is the Kingsday flea market in Holland. Iam curious what I will find this time.

A peek into our new home part one

Ik ben erg blij dat ik eindelijk een post kan plaatsen over ons prachtige nieuwe huis. Het heeft ook wel even geduurd voordat ik deze beelden met jullie kon delen. Maar het is nu echt zo ver dus hopelijk zijn jullie er klaar voor....

Door mijne vorige posts te lezen zal je inmiddels wel een beetje een idee hebben van mijn stijl. Ik ben namelijk gek op Scandinavisch design. En deze sfeer probeer ik in onze nieuwe woning ook door te voeren. 

Veel licht, wit, zwart en grijs met pastel accenten en hout op de vloer. Strakke lijnen gecombineerd met speelse accenten en een vleugje vintage. Het hout is in ons geval een licht eiken visgraad vloer. 

Het TV-meubel dat we hebben laten maken naar aanleiding van mijn eigen ontwerp en onze gezamenlijke wensen. Het resultaat mag er dan ook zijn; een strak meubel met veel berg ruimte. De kast is gemaakt van berken multiplex met wit HPL en de kubussen zijn van berken multiplex en MDF, onbewerkt of in een kleur geschilderd.

De kubussen zijn een plek voor al onze persoonlijke schatten uit te stallen. Het is opgeruimd maar al onze persoonlijke items in de kubussen geven leven aan de woonkamer. Het is een van de eyecatchers van ons huis.

Deze mooie kast hebben we laten maken door Constant meubelmaker uit Amsterdam. 

Ik hoop dat ik je geïnspireerd heb. En blijf lezen want ik zal snel weer nieuwe beelden posten. Want "that's what makes me happy"

Finally I can show you the results of our hard work in our new house.

Since a few months this new build house in an old neighbourhood has become our home.

You might have found out what our style is reading my blog. Because I love to write about all those pretty Scandinavian interiors en design brands.

So, yes! Our style can be descriped as Scandinavian with all the white, soft grey, black with pastel accents en wooden flooring. We chose to have a light oak chevron floor. And it is so beautiful! 

But what Iam going to show you is our lovely TV-cupboard with additional square boxes on the wall. The boxes are the place where we show all our personal treasures. It is the eyecatcher of the living room.

The materials are: birch plywood with a white top layar and the boxes are made of birch plywood and MDF.

The TV-cupboard is designed by myself and made by furniture designer "Constant meubelmaker" from Amsterdam.

Moodboard colours 6: Fresh

Een aantal dagen terug maakte ik deze foto omdat ik deze kleine koolraapjes zo mooi van kleur vond. Het zijn grappige groenten en de matte kleuren inspireerden me om een mooi kleurpallet te maken.

Alle kleuren komen rechtstreeks uit de foto en combineren prachtig met elkaar, het is een fris maar wel rustig pallet. Vooral als de kleuren ook zo mooi mat zijn als de huid en blaadjes van de koolraap. Het lijkt wel alsof er een dun poederige waas over ligt. De ruwe achtergrond maakt het geheel af, robuust door de scheuren waar deels de verf is afgebladderd.

Ik binnenkort iets met deze kleuren doen. Misschien ga ik de vergrijsd blauw/groene kleur van de blaadjes wel gebruiken op een wandje in onze nieuwe keuken. Die is overigens mooi mat wit dus ik denk dat dit goed combineert, ook met de licht eiken vloer die er komt te liggen. Foto's volgen spoedig ;-)

English summary:
A few day ago I took this picture because I loved the colour of those cute little kohlrabi. Those veggies are so pretty and funny. They inspired me to create this colour pallet.

I picked the colours directly from the picture. I just love the matted look of the leaves and skin it looks like they are covered with a very fine powder dust.

I will soon use this pallet in my new home. It will probably be a wall in the kitchen I will paint in the colour of the leaves. A great combination with the matted white cabinet doors and light oak flooring.
