Ik ben gek op kringloop en tweedehands winkels, vlooienmarkten en vrijmarkt op Koningsdag. Het is altijd maar de vraag waar je mee thuis komt, ik heb meestal wel een aantal dingen in m'n hoofd die ik graag wil aanschaffen en waar ik dan ook naar opzoek ben. Het gebeurd natuurlijk regelmatig dat ik helemaal niks nuttigs tegen kom. Maar er zijn soms dagen dat je ineens een kleine schat vind.

Zo vond ik vorige weekend een geweldig rotan stoeltje. Ik gok dat het uit de jaren 60/70 komt, ik had er eigenlijk al 1. Die staat mooi te zijn in onze woonkamer. Ik vind het een leuk om de strakke meubels die we hebben met af en toe wat vintage te combineren. Het geeft je huis net iets meer leven en persoonlijkheid.

Mijn vriend is niet zo'n fan van mijn vintage vondsten, maar goed als deze nieuwe vondst nou leuk geprijsd zou zijn dan wilde ik hem toch wel meenemen. En wat bleek, voor een paar euro mocht ik 'm kopen.

Nu hebben we een leuke set van 2 rotan stoeltjes in huis. Ze staan erg leuk en heb ze voor de foto voor een leuk vintage behangetje gezet (dit is een heel oud behang van Graham & Brown dat opnieuw in productie is gebracht in hedendaagse kleuren).

Enn euhhh, nog een paar nachtjes slapen en dan is er weer vrijmarkt. Ik ben benieuwd wat ik daar aantref.

English summary: I love to go to thriftshops and wonder around looking for that treasure for our home. Sometimes you go out empty handed and (I have to admit) a bit dissapointed. But there are some days when you just find those litlle treasures.

Last weekend I went in, looking for used terra cotta pottery but could not find any. When I walked around I found a lovely rattan chair. One I had bought before and is being pretty in our livingroom but only a little difrent. I was curious what the price would be. And very happy to see that it was only a few euro's. So I had to buy it.

To be honest I did'nt need another chair and I know the other chair isn't appreciated around our house. But nevermind, I bought it. So there is a nice set of rattan chairs in our home. Being pretty, not sure if I keep them both. But they are good for now, and looking very nice.

I photographed the two chairs in front of an vintage wallpaper (this vintage design by Graham & Brown is reproduced in new colours).

And, within a few nights of sleep there is the Kingsday flea market in Holland. Iam curious what I will find this time.

Seinfestijn voorjaar 2015

Vandaag ben ik naar het Seinfestijn geweest. Een leuk kleinschalig lifestyle en food evenement dat werd gehouden in het Seinwezen in Haarlem. Aangezien ik er heel vlak bij woon en ik het erg leuke locatie vind moest ik natuurlijk even gaan kijken.

Het was een drukte vanjewelste. Veel ouders met kinderen, dames die kwamen voor een kijkje in de markt kraampjes en mannen bij de BBQ. Het weer was niet erg warm maar af en toe kwam er toch een klein zonnetje door en genoten de bezoekers van hun hapje en drankje.

Er stonden een aantal leuke webshops als: April and May, Marije Pasman, Fortune flea, Lifeandlemons en My dear art shop. Buiten stonden een aantal rollende keukens met hapjes en drankjes als, poffertjes, Chinese gegrilde buikspek, tosties en taart. De kinderen konden geschminkt worden een workshop volgen bij happymakersblog of zelf een vogelhuisje maken.

Ik vond het een leuk initiatief en zekere de moeite waard om in het najaar op 27 september weer naar toe te gaan.

Today I went to Seinfestijn, a small scaled food and lifestyle market in Haarlem. I live very close by so I had to visit this market on a pretty location near the Haarlem train station.

It was quite busy with families who brought their kids for doing crafts and eating poffertjes (tiny Dutch pancakes with sugar on top). The ladies loved all the little stands where you can by gifts for yourself or a friend and the man were found near the BBQ.

A few of the webshops were: April and May, Marije Pasman, Fortune flea, Lifeandlemons en My dear art shop. Outside were some food cars with poffertjes, coffee, tea and smoothies. Happymakersblog was there to facilitate some workshops.

It was a great initiative so it is worth it to be there next time in autumn on the 27th of september.

Ik schrijf redelijk vaak over Ikea producten omdat ik hier over geïnformeerd word maar doe dat alleen als de producten mij aanspreken. En dat is nu het geval: Ikea heeft vanaf 15 april een nieuw gadget waar mannen maar ik dit geval ook vrouwen blij van worden. De "Wireless Charging" collectie.

Aangezien je er tegenwoordig niet meer aan kan ontkomen dat er door het hele huis oplaad kabels voor telefoons en tablet's liggen is dit een uitkomst. Ik ben gek op wit en daarom kan ik de Apple opladers accepteren in ons huis. Ik moet ook wel met twee I-pads en I-phones. Maar het blijft altijd weer zoeken naar het kabeltje of het is net door mijn lief in gebruik.

De Wireless Charger collectie van Ikea bevat verschillende meubels waar een draadloos oplaad systeem in verwerkt is. Je legt het op het kruis en je I-phone of Samsung toestel laad op (mits voorzien van Qi standaard en als je dat niet hebt zijn er speciale hoesjes die er voor zorgen dat je wel draadloos kan opladen).

Super handig en het ziet er nog leuk uit ook. Ik denk dat ik kies voor de oplader met 3 kruisjes dus drie oplaadpunten want dan kan iedereen daar mooi z'n telefoon op leggen. En mocht je de meubels niet mooi vinden of nog iets prachtigs hebben staan dat je niet wilt vervangen? Dan is er ook altijd nog een oplader in te bouwen in ene bestaand meubel.

Ik denk dat ik nu wel een goed excuus heb om mijn vriend weer eens mee te lokken naar Ikea ;-)

English summary: I know, I write quite often about Ikea products. But I only do that when the design is my style. This week I found out that Ikea will launch a new collection from the 15 of april. The "Wireless Charging" collection.

I find it very attractive and useful because we have a lot of chargers laying allover the house. The wireless charging system is easy to use. Put your telephone on top of the cross and it will start charging (if you phone has Qi standard, otherwise use the chraging sleeve).

The collection contains different pieces of furniture and separate charging devises you can build into your consisting furniture.  A great excuse to get my boyfriend to Ikea ;-)

Healthy muffins...

Ik ben gisteren opzoek gegaan naar gezonde desserts of koffie snacks. Er kwamen een aantal vriendinnen kaasfonduen en aangezien dat niet het meest gezonde diner is dat een mens kan eten (maar wel heel erg lekker) leek het me wel zo verantwoord om een gezond dessert te maken.

Ik kwam er achter dat je voor het maken van muffins/cupcakes havermout in plaats van bloem kan gebruiken en honing en banaan als vervanger voor suiker. Ik ben uiteindelijk tot het volgende recept gekomen;

Ingrediënten:
135 gram havermout
2 bananen (gepureerd)
2 eieren
2 theelepels (met kop) bakpoeder
120 ml (amandel) melk  
3 theelepels kaneel poeder
0,5 theelepel kardemom poeder
1 grote eetlepel kokosolie
3 eetlepels rijststroop of honing
1,5 appel in stukjes
rasp van 1 citroen (schil)

Het is een simpel recept, pureer de bananen (of prak ze met een vork) en doe alle ingrediënten bij elkaar in een grote mengkom. Voor 12 muffins vul je de vorm met een stukje bakpapier (ik heb een groot vel in 12 stukjes geknipt). Schep voorzichtig met een lepel het beslag in de vormpjes en bak de muffins 35 minuten in een voorverwarmde oven van 185 C graden.

En het was geslaagd!

English summary: Yesterday I was looking for a healthy dessert or coffee bite. After searching for healthy cupcake of muffin recipes I realized I had to use oats in stead of flower and replace sugar with honey and bananas.

I have created a recipe with the ingredients that seemed to be good to me and love to share it with you.

Ingredients:

135 gr. Oats
2 bananas (pureed)
2 eggs
2 t.sp baking powder
120 ml (almond) milk
3 t.sp cinnamon
0,5 t.sp cardamom
1 large tb.sp coconut oil
3 tb.sp  rice syrup or honey
1,5 apple in pieces
zest of 1 lemon

Puree the bananas and add all the ingredients in a large bowl. Line a muffin tin (for 12 muffins) with small sheets of baking paper and gently scoop the batter in the muffin tin. Pre-heat the oven on 185 degrees Celsius and bake the muffins for 35 minutes. let them cool down and start eating.

They are delicious!

Mimosa in the house...

Zijn ze niet prachtig? Ik ben er helemaal weg van, deze takjes Mimosa. Ik vind het een prachtige bloem en dat voor een geel hater. Ik ben namelijk helemaal geen fan van de kleur geel, ik zou niet snel iets in het geel kopen of adviseren aan klanten maar er is een kleur geel die ik erg mooi vind; Mimosa geel.

De Mimosa heb ik voor het eerst bewust gezien in een prachtig stadspark in Madrid. Het was hoog zomer, erg heet en de weinige bomen die er stonden waren Mimosa.
Uiteraard niet in bloei maar het blad fascineerde me. Heel fragiel en gedetailleerd, het leken met allemaal kleine veertjes. Toen ik later eens naar wat informatie over de boom ging zoeken kwam ik er achter dat dit de boom was met die prachtige gele bloemen.

Ik heb ze net weer bij de bloemist gevonden en ze staan te schitteren door het hele huis.
Laat de lente maar weer komen, ik ben er klaar voor!

English summary: Aren't they gorgeous? I love those branches of Mimosa. It is such a pretty flower, and I hate the colour yellow. Let me explain, I don't like the colour yellow at all, but I have to admit that there is only one colour yellow I like; Mimosa yellow. So bright and fresh.

I first noticed those pretty trees when I was in a park in Madrid. Those trees inspired me and gave a lovely shade in the summer heat. I did not knew then, that this was the tree with those pretty yellow flowers.

I found them at the florist in our town and bought them instantly. I've put them all around the house. Feels like spring is coming soon, I am ready for it!

Ik zet het in m'n agenda... want ik kan niet wachten tot deze prachtige "Sinnerlig" collectie bij Ikea te zien is. De Britse designer Ilse Crawford van Studioilse heeft een geweldige collectie met gerecyclede materialen ontworpen. Een van de hoofd bestanddelen is kurk. Er zijn 30 verschillende producten ontworpen waaronder, krukjes, bankjes, glazenflessen met dop van kurk en nog veel meer moois! Je zou bijna niet geloven dat het Ikea is...

Ik kan niet wachten tot ik een van die prachtige krukjes in huis heb. Of zal ik toch kiezen voor een bankje voor aan onze eettafel? Zou ook erg leuk zijn. Het duurt nog even voordat het augustus is dus ik heb nog de tijd om er over na te denken waar ik voor ga sparen.

Maar ik heb er nu al zin in!

English summary:
Save the date! In august Ikea will launch a new collection "Sinnerlig". And this designers collection is designed by British designer Ilse Crawford of Studioilse. One of the main materials is: cork and that's one of my favorite materials. The collection that is made of recycled materials contains 30 products, bench, stool, glass bottles etc.

I can't wait until it is august but the advantage is that I still have time to figure out which part of this collection I will buy. Those pretty stools or shall I have the bench at our dining table?

Even een klein inspirerend berichtje van mij. Ik ben vandaag naar Show-up geweest, een beurs voor detailisten en medewerkers uit de interieur branche. Ik vind het altijd erg inspirerend om nieuwe merken te zien en mooe producten te zien. Ik deel graag een paar beelden met je. Geniet er van!
