Arttiles

Ik heb weer een fantastisch product gevonden tijdens een van mijn dagelijkse zoektochten op Pinterest. Wat is het toch fijn om iedere dag zo veel mooie producten langs te zien komen. Ik raak steeds weer geïnspireerd.

Het product heet Arttiles, deze tegeltjes zijn ontworpen door twee Deense kunstenaressen. Trine Galschiøt & Anette Nørmark raakten gefascineerd door de oude Zuid-Europese huizen met een met tegeltjes bedekte façade. Dat heeft de dames aan het denken gezet, een concept werd geboren. Hoe geef je de menselijke façade die we allemaal hebben weer? 


En de dames hebben het prachtig gedaan. Door hun kijk op de wereld te vermengen met prachtige prints hebben ze een prachtige collectie tegels ontwikkelt. Arty in streetart/ graffiti stijl met die prachtige vrouwelijke prints gecombineerd. De tegeltjes zijn hand-geprint of beschilderd en hebben een glasharde coating waardoor ze geschikt zijn voor intensief gebruik in badkamer of keuken.
Je kan losse tegeltjes kopen als klein kunstwerkje aan de muur of tussen een wand vol met "saaie" witte  tegeltjes of een pakket van 16 of 4 stuks voor een wandje in badkamer of keuken. Van ieder ontwerp is een beperkte oplage gemaakt en op = op.


Er staat een Arttile ( met zo'n prachtig mini dessin) op mijn verlanglijstje voor ons nieuwe huis, aan de "kunst" muur die ik ga creëren.

During one of my daily Pinterest searches I found a great picture of tiles with patterns on it. When I clicked on the picture I found out that they were a product made by the company named Arttiles.

This company is started by two Danish artists named; Trine Galschiøt & Anette Nørmark. They where fascinated by the old Southern European house facades covered with tiles. The fascination of facades got further in how to portrait the human facade. Arttiles are reflecting the way Trine and Anette's way of looking at the world.


They have created an interesting mix of art in a graffiti style with small feminine pattens. There are different types of products you can purchase in their webshop. Boxes of mixed tiles in black and white of vibrant colours, sets of 4 tiles or just one tile as a subtile art piece in your home. All limited editions.
I'd love to have one of the tiles as a art piece on the art wall I have on my wishlist for our new home.

Copenhagen part 2 Design

Ik ben terug van weg gegweest. druk druk druk, ik weet het geen excuus maar daarom ga ik nu weer lekker verder met het delen van alle ideen en prachtige inspiratie op het gebied van interieur ontwerp, styling en food.

Volgens mij hadden jullie nog wat mooie beelden tegoed van ons reisje naar Copenhagen. We hebben daar zoveel prachtig design gespot dat ik een kleine selectie laat zien.

Er zijn heel veel kleine boetiekjes en warenhuizen met prachtige etalages en design. Waaronder Hay house...

Copenhagen part 1... food

Ik ben onlangs een heerlijk weekend in Kopenhagen geweest.  Deze stad stond al tijden op mijn verlanglijstje en eindelijk had ik de mogelijkheid om hier heen te gaan.

Er zijn een aantal dingen die ik graag met je deel en een van liefhebberijen is eten dus ik vertel graag iets over een aantal speciale eet momenten in Kopenhagen.

Op het plein dat Torvehallerne KBH heet heb je een geweldige overdekte markt met allemaal kleine restaurants, winkeltjes en koffie/thee barretjes. Er worden locale specialiteiten geserveerd zoals smorrebrod maar ook een geweldige steak sandwich. De winkeltjes verkopen heerlijke delicatessen en alles is prachtig vormgegeven zoals de Denen dat heel goed kunnen.

Ik ben ook bij een fantastische ijswinkel geweest "Frisklavede Italienske Ispinde". Al het ijs maken ze zelf met zorgvuldig geselecteerde ingrediënten. Al het ijs zit op een stokje maar heeft de bijzondere smaken van Italiaans schepijs gecombineerd met waterijs, erg lekker en vooral ook leuk om te eten.

Recently I've visited the city of Copenhagen. I always wanted to go there so when I had the opportunity I was unstoppable...

A few of my favorite things to do are eating. Thats why I'd love to share a few good food moments and places with you.

On the squarecalled Torvehallerne KBH you'll find and incredible food market. This is an indoor market with lots of small coffee bars, restaurants and food shops. They sell the local specialties: smorre brod and also a great steak sandwich. The shops sell the most delicious delicacies and every shop and restaurant has its own beautiful styling.

An other food place to be is "Frisklavede Italienske Ispinde" They produce their own products out of the best ingredients and sell popsicles and coffee. The popsicles are made from Italian ice-cream in combination with ice they use for popsicles. They have great flavors and every a special.

Pretty design by Rie Elise Larsen...

Ik heb weer een pareltje gevonden! Ik kan niet ontkennen dat het weer Deens design is en kan niet wachten tot ik eindelijk naar Kopenhagen kan om nog meer van dit moois te bekijken.

Het merk heet Rie Elise Larsen en is vernoemd naar de ontwerpster. Rie ontwerpt alles zelf. Na jaren als stylist gewerkt te hebben heeft ze in 2008 haar eerste collectie gelanceerd. Haar werk is te herkennen aan kleurrijke mini dessins bestaande uit geometrische vormen. Een groot deel van de collectie word in India met de hand gefabriceerd.

Je word er echt vrolijk van. De dozen met geometrisch dessin passen perfect in mijn kantoor en de strijkijzer snoeren zijn een mooie match met de witte rijstpapieren lampen die ik boven mijn eettafel wil hangen.

De collectie bestaat verder nog uit: pakpapier, ansichtkaarten, thee doeken, haakjes, verlichting en kerst decoratie.

I found another pearl of Danish design. This colourful brand is named Rie Elise larsen after the designer.

Rie Elise Larsen has been working as a stylist for many years and launched her first collection in 2008. You can recognize her work by the mix of small geometric patterns and bright colours. Most of the products are manufactured in India by hand.

I love the boxes with small geometric patterns, they will be perfect in my office... and have you seen those textile cables? The neon pink and soft green will be great with the simple ricepaper lamps I have.

The collection also contains wrapping paper, postcards, lampshades, tea towels, hooks and christmas decoration.

Scandinavian brands part 4

Ik ben gek op Scandinavisch design en deel dat graag  met jullie. Een van m'n favoriete merken is het Deense Ferm living. Inmiddels is dit een merk dat al aardig wat publiciteit heeft gehad (en heeft verdiend). Ik wil er toch een aantal nieuwe dessins uitlichten.

Ferm verkoopt diverse woonaccessoires maar ook behang, keuken spul en leuke kinder accessoires.
Alle dessins zijn voorzien van een simpel grafisch dessin en er zit humor in deze collectie. Producten hebben een grappige vorm en hebben prachtige Scandinavische kleuren.

Een groot deel van de collectie is verantwoord geproduceerd van biologisch katoen, de kussens en theedoeken zijn hand geprint dus dat maakt het allemaal nog mooier.

I love Scandinavian design and sharing it with you. One of my favorite brands is the Danish brand Ferm living. There has been some attention to Ferm in the press, magazines and the web but I could not resist sharing a few of there great designs because they deserve the attention.

Ferm living has a large collection of interior accessories, kitchen stuff and kids accessories. All the design they create has a sense of humor by the shape or pattern on it. I love the Scandinavian colour use.

And good to know is that a large part of their collection is made of organic cotton and printed by hand.

my treat...

Vandaag heb ik een geweldig cadeau voor mezelf gekocht. ik had ze al een tijdje in m'n hoofd maar kon de verleiding echt niet weerstaan....

Ik heb een setje trays van Hay gekocht. Ze zijn ontworpen door Clara von Zweigbergk.

De Kaleido trays zijn kleine dienblaadjes in 5 verschillende maten in de vorm van caleidoscopische figuren. Ze zijn van gepoedercoat metaal gemaakt. Het is altijd moeilijk om te kiezen maar ik heb uiteindelijk gekozen voor een XS in mintgroen, S in licht grijs en een M in fluor oranje/roze.

Ik ben er erg blij mee en ze staan geweldig in ons huis...

Today I bought myself and our home a treat...
I bought a set of trays by Hay. The trays are designed by Clara von Zweigbergk for Hay.

The trays are shaped in kaleidoscopic shapes and are available in 5 different sizes and lots of colours.
It is always hard to pick one, but I have decided to choose a set of 3 XS in mint green, S in soft grey and M in neon pinky/orange.

Iam so happy with it and it will look great in our home....

Scandinavian brands Finnsdottir

Tijdens mijn dagelijkse zoektocht naar mooi design kwam ik bij het prachtige keramiek van het Deense merk Finnsdottir uit. De naam deed mij denken aan een Fins merk maar de looks verraadde dat het weer een prachtig staaltje Deens design is.

Finnsdottir is in 2007 ontstaan door een samenwerking tussen het duo: Thora Finnsdottir en Anne Hoff. Deze dames hebben de hun achtergrond van keramiek ontwerp en grafisch ontwerp gecombineerd. Er is een prachtige Scandinavische collectie ontstaan met interieur accessoires als vaasjes, verlichting, kandelaars en sieraden.

Het creatieve duo haalt inspiratie uit het dagelijks leven en is opzoek naar een spannende ontwerp. Het gaat niet om de functionaliteit, de vorm en het gevoel zijn erg belangrijk. "We transformeren een object graag naar iets nieuws terwijl we details laten zien die herinneringen of een gevoel oproepen".

Na het zien van deze collecties heb ik nog een goede reden om binnenkort eens naar Kopenhagen te gaan en een van de verkoop punten te bezoeken.

During my daily search for inspiring design I found a brand named Finnsdottir. The designers Thora Finnsdottir and Anne Hoff started working together in 2007. They created these lovely ceramic accessories like; vases, lighting and jewelry

The duo says; " We are inspired by everyday things in our lives. It's not the functionality but the shape and feeling which give us inspiration to our designs. We love transforming an object into something new and different but still keeping some details which create a memory or a feeling".

After seeing this beautiful collection I have a very good reason to visit one of the shops that sell this brand in Copenhagen.

Happy household stuff with a pattern

Ik weer eens wezen shoppen bij een van mijn favoriete winkels.

Uiteraard kon ik de verleiding niet weerstaan in deze winkel met allerlei 'nuttige' hebbedingetjes vaak voorzien van een vrolijk dessin. En alles voor zeer kleine prijsjes vanaf €1,-

Misschien heb je al een idee waar ik het nu over heb. Ik heb het over Flying Tiger. Ik heb hier al eerder een blog over geschreven maar kon het niet laten om deze ook met jullie te delen. Het is namelijk steeds weer een feest om te zien wat zij met alle daagse producten doen. Simpele/ saaie huishoudelijke en kantoor producten worden door Flying Tiger omgetoverd in iets leuks!

Vrolijke vaatdoekjes, gezellige zakdoekjes in diverse dessins, leuke rietjes, prachtige ansichtkaarten en meer! Het maakt het huishouden toch gezellig? Wie wil er nou niet schoonmaken met vrolijke vaatdoekjes?

Tevens ga ik me dit jaar weer verdiepen in het zelf kweken van groente. Dus vanmiddag maar meteen aan de slag met m'n mini kas. Die staat vast heel leuk op de vensterbank!

Hier wordt je toch blij van? Ik wel!

I've been to one of my favorite shops again.

They sell small gifts and other stuff for low prices. But it all looks good and a lot of things have pretty patterns on it. They sell every stuff and have turned it into something pretty and for a good price starting from 1 euro for 3 postcards, 2 packages of flower seeds etc.

Iam talking about Flying Tiger! I've blogged about this shop before but could not resist to do it again. These shops are all over europe and even in Japan so it is worth a visit! Or check out their website.

I've bought some gardening stuff for my home grown veggies. And some prettyy patterned stuff like: straws, cleaning cloths with hearts on it, handkerchieves, postcards and more.

That's what makes me happy...

Mijn liefde voor mooi design deel ik graag met jullie. Ik ben gek op Scandinavisch design. Ze zijn daar in het noorden van Europa gewoon erg goed in het creëren van mooie producten. De Denen kunnen er wat van daarom wil 3 merken met geweldige interieur accessoires, textiel en meubels met jullie delen. Flying tiger...

Today I found out that the "shoping" centre of my home town has a new store...

It is paradise for woman, lots of scandinavian designed stuff for the home, kids, kitchen, stationary etc. and all for very low prices starting with €1,-

Lots of things you can buy have beautifull scandinavian patterns amd quirky prints on It like wrapping paper, storage boxes, ceramics, candles, candle holderders etc.

And the name of the store is:
FLYING TIGER!

There are stores allover the world and in Holland you'll find them in: Almere, Arnhem, Utrecht, Nijmegen and now also in Haarlem.
